Sunlight directly influences on the development of forest species by affecting attributes plant growth and physiology. Among these species, Erythroxylum pauferrense Plowman is considered a rare as its distribution restricted only to state Paraíba. Therefore, studies are needed that seek evaluate adaptation, propagation under different environmental conditions. This study aimed morphophysiological aspects seedlings submitted levels shading. The experiment was carried out greenhouse condition in completely randomized design with five treatments (0, 30, 50, 70, 90% shading) eight replicates. Growth characteristics, morphofunctional attributes, gas exchange, chlorophyll (Chl) fluorescence, Chl content were evaluated. Data analysis variance followed polynomial regression analysis. Results showed plants grown 30 50% shading higher height, stem diameter, absolute rate for leaf dry mass, total Dickson’s quality index, area, area well net assimilation CO2, stomatal conductance, transpiration, instantaneous water use efficiency, a, b, a+b contents. from most recommended production seedlings.
